I know there are a lot of kits out there, and I never really intended to start making kits myself... but I couldn't stop myself! This stuff was so fun, I wanted to share with you all!

 

Here are a few projects I made so far (I haven't even finished using up my kit... lots left...)

 

Happy Family: I covered one of the chipboard hearts with patterned paper and traced the alphas in white pen to make them stand out. I used some of the tulle for the ribbon on the tag - kind of hard to see here.

 

 

Meeting Frank: Here's another covered chipboard heart with a variety of the smaller embellishments. I love how you can mix and match the colors/patterns so easily.

 

 

 

Batter Up: I used strips of patterned paper folded as "ribbon," and pulled out that trusty white pen again to include some details and doodling.

 

 

 

Tumble: The scan didn't do this one justice with all the textures and the hidden journaling card, so I photographed it instead. I turned half the envelope into a spot for the hidden journaling, and used all my patterned papers, popping some up with foam dots.

 

 

Cards: Lots of fun stuff here... I left these for last so I could use up my scraps and leftover embellishments!

 

Cal is 4: What would a kit be without a mini album? I cut the chipboard piece in half, covered front and back with the flocked patterened paper, and embellished. Then I mounted a series of photos (trimmed to 3.5 x 5") on front and back of lighter chipboard (not included -- I cut up an old cereal box for some of my sheets). Punch holes with the Crop-A-Dile Eyelet & Snap Punch, grab some binder rings (not included), and Ralph's your uncle! These photos had been sitting on my desk for... well, six months...

 

More doodling with my Sakura Gel Souffle pen (if you don't have one of these, GET ONE).

And some additional pages created out of scraps of white cardstock and leftover chipboard.

 

I also used my heavy-duty Zutter corner rounder to round the corners.

So what do you think? How did I do with my first kit? I wanted to offer versatile products that went well together but weren't too matchy-matchy. I hope I succeeded!

Spring in Utah

...does not look like spring in California.

But that is okay.

Tons to do -- lots of plans. A little shopping. No scrapbooking (yet!).

 

There's that darned sideways photo thing again. When I take a photo on my iPhone, it imports sideways to my Mac (don't you think the two would be better integrated, Steve Jobs??). And I do not know how to change it.

An Opinionated Bunch

Well now, you all have some definite opinions about footwear! Good thing I didn't come home with the Austin Powers boots or the little ole' lady shoes. :)

What I did come home with was two pair of shoes, one practical:

...one not so much, but oh-so-cute!

And I just might have to go back to get the op-art heels, the espadrilles, the metallic wedges and Reef slip-ons, based on your recommendations. :)

Hmmm...no winners yet? I was eye-balling those Coach winter boots - maybe you went for style and practicality and bought those for you new home along with Noell's shoes? (If you didn't get Noell's shoes, you should; your foot looks dainty and cute in those.
