There is a movie called "The Longest Yard."
Today was "the longest day."
Due to things not heard and seen in California, like sudden torrential rainstorms in 75 degree weather...
...the 11AM game against the Tidewater Bombers was delayed -- first to 12:20. And then again, at the bottom of the fourth inning.
Watching 1000 people evacuate the baseball parks simultaneously was quite a sight to behold.
We had just enough time to get back to HoJo's, get in the pool and relax -- and then get called back to the field to resume the game.
That didn't go so well. It started pouring again, and after several rousing rounds of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game," followed by "Gilligan's Island," we were evacuated again.
And called back again about an hour and a half later... and this time we actually got to play!
Lovin' that scoreboard. Sorry about the lack of photos of the game -- my camera batteries died. I'll pick up some new ones tomorrow (Jolene, guess who forgot to bring her rechargeable ones??).
Because of the delay, we only played one game today. We start tomorrow morning at 8:30 (which my body will insist is 5:30). Stay tuned!
You don't have weather like that in California? Wow. I learn something new every day :)
That's a great scoreboard (assuming you're the home team). It sounds like you're having a fun and exhausting time. Loving all of the updates!

we got nothin' but rain over here! Playing soccer has been fun because the fields are so wet.
