A job well done!
Whew, another CKC come and gone! Nine classes in two days, filled with about 349 women and one man... and I gave chocolate to almost each and every one of them!
I love teaching. It's one of those things I know I was meant to do. I feel totally in the moment in front of a group of people, and nothing beats sharing my love of scrapbooking with them!
Weekend highlights:
-Rooming with her We've teamed up a couple of times now for CKCs, and she is so sweet -- the thing that amazes me is that she is as sweet as she is beautiful. A rare combination! (Love you, Elizabeth!). It's so funny walking around with her... you hear these whispers, "Is that her? Yes, that's her!" One man came up to her and said that his wife was a big fan but was too shy to approach her. How cute is that???
-Seeing Becky with her cute baby belly. Always a treat! She makes you feel like the only person in the room.
-Meeting and taking pictures with tons of fun people (Oreos, you know who you are -- send me pictures!).
-Shopping. Of course. I was introduced to this new thing called "Bazzill by the Box." I'll tell you more about it on my podcast (YES, one is coming!).
-Dinner with Angela at this cool restaurant:
You've got to love a place that says, "Don't ask us to make it mild -- we don't know how." Thanks, Angela, for introducing me to Los Dos Molinas!
-Another wonderful Mexican dinner with these two nuts, Noell and Dedra. Who else, besides other scrapbookers, would take you for a night on the town visiting public statues and taking wacky photos??? My favorite -- watching the two of them set up their cameras using a newspaper rack as a tripod:
I have not laughed that hard in a L-O-N-G time. Pure giggliness. I will share more photos when they send 'em over to me! (We took some doozies).
Ahh, Mesa, I love you. But I'm also looking forward to home.
Next stop? Austin, TX for National Scrapbook Day! More details here.
So sad that I couldn't get there to meet you in person. I was only able to get to the vendor faire for about an hour before it closed on Saturday. Love that you found Los dos, it is an amazing little hole in the wall.

I am so happy to hear that Elizabeth is as nice as she is beautiful, as when someone so pretty wins the SOY award...one tends to see the jealous bone show itself. Now I that I know she is nice...I can like her LOL.

Sounds like you had a great time overall! And I'm guessing your Saturday dinner was at Mangos?

Glad you had a great time. And you went to Los Dos Molinas. I've been to one out in the Phoenix area. Awesome margheritas. Athough the one I went to looked more like a house with a courtyard. Who knows, though. Had a few too many drinks at that one!

Hmmm...where did my comment go. UGH. It must be the terrible weather we are having today.

Hey, Lain! I had a great time last night!
Yes, I will email you the jpegs right away. We're shooting video today, so that, plus the whole "spend time with the kids" thing is taking precedent (jk!) but you'll have the evidence either tonight or tomorrow.
It was so nice to meet you in person.
Hugs, Noell

AAAAAH! My first date was at Los Dos Molinos in Mesa. I think I was 15. I TOTALLY forgot about that place. I totally cracked up seeing the picture. Too funny!
Now, as for that podcast..... I taught two book classes in Virginia this weekend & I really really really missed catching up with Lain on my iPod during my drive. Come on girl. Time to get it together. We all miss your voice!

Hi Lain, Just wanted to tell you about a couple of things that might help regarding your post on the 18th. Firstly, Cheryl Richardson has a great weekly newsletter that you can sign up for and one a few weeks ago was about letting go, I thought it was great (www.cherylrichardson.com). Secondly, there is a book called The Four Agreements by don Miguel Ruiz, one of the agreements is Don't take anything personally - nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering. The book of course is more indepth. When I've been in similar situations I try and focus on things that make me happy like my scrapbooking or my garden and try not to over-analyse! Focus on the solution not the problem! Anyways I hope this helps and if I lived near you I'd be your friend - Angela NZ
