Not only do I love the song by the Police, I also prefer the idea of synchronicity over that of coincidence. It makes me feel that there is a plan to everything, that it's not just random chance when something cool happens... like running into Tasra at Starbucks today.
I walked in the door of Starbucks I'd only been to once before (with Tasra, about a month ago). I said to myself, "Wouldn't it be funny if I saw Tasra here?"
And then there she was.
Coolness in action. :)
Other cool things:
-watching Amelie for the first time (there are benefits to spending your birthday alone -- you get to watch all the sub-titled movies you desire)
-working on the next podcast
-taking seven bags of books to the used bookstore (and dropping three of them off at the library after)
-snuggling with all three kids in bed
-getting ready for Stitches West tomorrow (my ticket for Friday's class with Nancy Bush is available since I have the kids -- let me know if you want to take it off my hands!)
Does this remind you of your sophomore year in high school? It does for me...
I won't tell you how old I was when that video came out. I don't want to make you feel old. :)Hint: I wasn't even in high school.)
You're starting to make me feel really bad about you spending your birthday alone. Subtitled movies on your birthday? Why didn't I fly to CA and rescue you? Shame on me. :)
Glad you're posting again. I've missed you!

I thought about you this morning and was hoping everything was OK. Happy Birthday!!! Hope your day was awesome. Hubby's was last Sunday and Alex turns two this Sunday so Emma and Andy think we should have one continuous 7-day party around here. I keep telling them their life is always a party but they aren't buying it. LOL

Oh my, you took me back with that song! We listened to the Police and the Who constantly on our senior year trip to Europe. We thought we were totally rockin' with our cassette tape Walkmans!! Those were the days. Thanks for the flashback.
Happy belated birthday! I was starting to get worried when there was no blog post for a week. Glad that all is well with you and yours.

Okay, talk about synchronicity...I was just this morning thinking I should hunt online for a gnome book that I had when I was a kid, and there it is in your sidebar.
Love Amelie, love the whole concept of synchronicity, and love that you're posting again!

Hi Lain,
Happy Birthday!!! I'd have a cake with you, but unfortunately I got a big cold and feel really miserable. It all happened, when I had to wait for 2 hours at the train statin in FREEZING!!!!! cold after returning from sunny California last weekend. Hope you had a great day and really spoiled yourself. I'm not much of a prety person, so I actually love the birthdays best that I can spend alone and do whatever I want.
