...than you ever wanted to know. But I couldn't resist. I found this on Vickie Howell's blog.
1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
Oh goodness, I keep a list of these things... got a streak in my hair, taught at CKC, discovered CSI, went to CHA, started a podcast, taught at Big Picture Scrapbooking, got the cutest car in the world, and cooked a turnip (thanks to a great soup recipe from darling Angie Lucas!). There are more, but those are the highlights (and you know, if cooking a turnip made the list of highlights, the others must be pretty mundane).
2. What are your New Years Resolutions?
To fold and put away the laundry as soon as it's done.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth in 2007?
Nope. No babies here...
4. Did anyone close to you die.
Bless the Lord, no.
5. What countries did you visit?
None.
6 What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
Hmmm... sponsorships for my podcast and a larger audience.
7. What date(s) in 2007 will remain etched in your memory and why?
All in all, it was an awesome year. I can't say that any particular dates stick out.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Building an incredible community at ScrapHappy.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Hmmmm... (thinking here....)... It would have to be the breakup with my best friend. I am still reeling from that one.
10. Did you suffer any illness or injury?
Just a broken heart (see #9).
11. What was the best thing someone bought you?
My darling hubby got me my salsa red convertible VW Beetle.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Kinsey really grew a ton this year in terms of her ability to control her emotions. I am so proud of her!
13. Whose behavior appalled and depressed you?
Scrapbookers on the "mean" blog, Britney Spears, and a few other people who shall remain unnamed.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Duh. Yarn and scrapook supplies. And a big trip to Maui.
15. What did you get really, really excited about?
The ScrapHappy community. I love you guys!
16. What song(s) reminds you of 2007?
John Mayer (Waiting on the World to Change), Brandi (not Belinda) Carlile (Closer to You)
17. Compared to last year are you...
a.) Happier or Sadder? Happier
b.) Thinner or Fatter? Thinner!!!
c.) Richer or Poorer? Holding steady
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Seen more of my friends, made in-person connections.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Complaining.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
At my in-laws' house in Salinas.
21. Did you fall in love in 2007.
Truly, madly, deeply. John is an angel. Period.
22. How many one night stands did you have?
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAH! I'm a married lady!
23. What was your favorite TV program?
CSI!!!
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't this time last year?
Hatred is the wrong word. There are people I'm working on letting go of. But that's about as far as I'm going to go.
25. What was the best book you read?
The Time Traveler's Wife
26. What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?
I turned 38. I hung with the family. Good stuff.
27. What was your best musical discovery?
Brandi (not Belinda) Carlile (from Linda Woods).
28. What did you want and get?
A larger presence in the scrapbooking industry. A new car. Love.
29. What was your favorite film of the year?
I would have to say Enchanted. It was adorable.
30. What did you want and not get?
A book deal.
31. What one thing would've made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If I'd finished reading the Bible.
32. How would you describe your fashion concept for 2007?
"Fashion concept?" Hahaha! I guess I would say Scrapper-casual. ;)

Scrapbooking, laughing with friends, John's reality checks, and hugs from my kids.
34. Which celebrity or public figure did you admire most?
Stacy Julian -- grace under pressure.
35. What political issue stirred you most?
Public education (or the lack thereof) in California.
36. Who do you miss?
Heather. Still.
37. Who was the best new person you met?
Too many to name on line. In person: Linda Woods. Stephanie Ackerman.
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned.
You can only serve one master. Once you know who that is, the rest doesn't matter.
39. Quote a song line that defines your year.
"If just one person believes in you,
Deep enough, and strong enough, believes in you...
Hard enough, and long enough,
It stands to reason, that someone else will think
"If he can do it, I can do it."
Making it: two whole people, who believe in you
Deep enough, and strong enough,
Believe in you.
Hard enough and long enough
There's bound to be some other person who
Believes in making it a threesome,
Making it three.....
People you can say: believe in me.....
And if three whole people,
Why not -- four?
And if four whole people,
Why not--more, and
more, and
more....
And when all those people,
Believe in you,
Deep enough, and strong enough,
Believe in you...
Hard enough, and long enough
It stands to reason that you yourself will
Start to see what everybody sees in
You...
And maybe even you,
Can believe in you... too!"
Deep enough, and strong enough, believes in you...
Hard enough, and long enough,
It stands to reason, that someone else will think
"If he can do it, I can do it."
Making it: two whole people, who believe in you
Deep enough, and strong enough,
Believe in you.
Hard enough and long enough
There's bound to be some other person who
Believes in making it a threesome,
Making it three.....

Deep enough, and strong enough,
Believe in you...
Hard enough, and long enough
It stands to reason that you yourself will
Start to see what everybody sees in
You...
And maybe even you,
Can believe in you... too!"
(Obviously this is more than one line but I couldn't resist. I thought this was from Free to Be You and Me but apparently it is the closing song from the musical Snoopy. And a tribute to Jim Henson. See what you can learn from the Internet?)
Great post!

Love that song! And VERY cool what you have built here over the past year.
Oh, and side note - you seriously need to read The History of Love. It will be your favorite book of 2008.

AWE! It feels like we have known each other forever. How could it be only a year?
Brandi Carlile sings Closer To You (my favorite song of the year or maybe even EVER). Belinda Carlisle was in in the Go-Gos. They should do a duet and confuse everyone!
Before Dustin worked on your fave show, his first job was on a Muppets Show! :)

I always feel weird commenting on blogs like I know the author, but since I've actually met you this doesn't feel quite so stalkerish. I just gotta tell ya, Lain, that I think you're awesome. You're happy, you're creative, you're fulfilling your dreams, you share yourself and your ideas, and on and on and on. It's truly amazing. Even though we've only met briefly in person, I feel like I can call you my friend without being all SWF. {hug}

Ahh Lain, you made me cry!
(And I'm borrowing that video).
You're the best! One of the absolute highlights of my year was finding ScrapHappy.
Hugs!

Awesome post-that letting go of people and for me the hurts that went with them-whoosh that's a hard one. You've inspired me to keep trying.

Lain . . . you're so cool! And you and ScrapHappy have to be right up there on top of my favorite's for 2007! Thanks for sharing a little about yourself, with the rest of us.
I think I feel a layout coming on . . . (these questions are just too good, to pass up)!
