31 Days. 31 Layouts. No Whining.

That is going to be the theme of NEXT year's Get a LOAD of This challenge. I will have t-shirts, buttons, bags and more. But in the meantime:

There it is. My 31st LO. I actually did more than 31 because I did some mini-albums and publication projects I cannot reveal at this time... but still...

As you may know, I'm not big on holiday pages (I prefre mini-albums), nor do I like using kits from a single manufacturer. I always get that Garanimals feeling that I will show up at the party wearing the same thing as everyone else. Yet this kit from Making Memories had been sitting there for a while, staring at me, so I broke it open. I threw in a wee bit o' ribbon and a Hambly rub-on for the journaling block. I'm rawther pleased with this, if I may say so myself. ;)

That's my mom and dad! I have never scrapped "THEM" before. I have included pics of them on a page, but never just "Them." This was tough. How to capture your parents in one page??? So I did the "By the Numbers" approach. I really like it. My Mind's Eye patterned papers, Heidi Swapp metallic chipboard letters (which I had a ton of trouble with -- WHEN will they work out their quality issues?), a bunch of different letters/numbers, and some Heidi Grace rub-ons.

Now that we are in our last day of LOAD, I have big plans for February:
-ScrapHappy book club at Goodreads. We start discussing Peace Like a River tomorrow!
-Sharing 2007's top reads with you.
-A little talk about resolutions.
-Little League season starts next week!!!!

Old habits die hard.

The internet is up at home, but I cannot help but come to Starbucks! I love how my clothes smell after I've been hanging out here -- and I don't even drink coffee! ;)

I started with KI's lace cardstock. I changed it up a bit, and added a bit more patterned paper (American Crafts), and an arrow (Scenic Route) that I edged in Glitz Designs' Frosting. Love that stuff! The metal frame is Making Memories, with a Heidi Swapp ghost letter.

I cannot wait for CHA. To see all the latest and greatest... oh my!

Without channeling too much misquoted Boy George, I figured you were missing me... blind.

So here's another one of my daily LOs... this one from the super-cute stuff from Piggy Tales!

The ribbon on the lower right? That's attached to a little Barn Door that flips open to reveal journaling. LOVE THAT! Can't wait to see what they have to show at CHA.

I am online! I can hardly believe it! I will be typing as fast as I can in order to get a blog post up before my internet goes down again...

So much to report, so little time. First things first:

Here is a cute LO I did for the Get a LOAD of This challenge. It's day 26... I'm catching up on scanning and posting. This one was made with fun little things from the Go. Be Creative December monthly kit. The letters and small blue brads were my own, but all the PP and buttons and cardstock were from the awesome collection!

What else... a podcast is a-brewing. I'm working on cute stuff for the Timeless Treasures Stamp-Doodle-Crop Cruise in April (you are coming, aren't you???). And more scrappy fun. Stay tuned!

I hate to leave you, lest I cannot get back on later... but duty (and grocery shopping) calls.

Take Your Daughter to Work Day

Every day is pretty much "Take Your Child to Work Day," but today is special. Because my internet access is STILL DOWN and I have to bring the whole gang to Starbucks to see what is happening in the world.

Pity on me.

I have been scrapping. I have been thinking about scrapping. I've been making big plans for CHA and future CKCs and other fun things like perhaps a trip back to Texas for National Scrapbook Day! (Shhhh....).

But in the meantime:

When dial-up starts looking good...

My home internet is STILL out. Five days. FIVE. This is ridiculous. Sorry if you have not heard from me... there is a good reason! There is only so much time I can spend at Starbucks before they start giving me the fish-eye.

Today's Do-Right prompt? BOOKS FOR KIDS. BOOKS FOR KIDS. BOOKS FOR KIDS. C'mon, people! You can donate a buck... or two... or five. Think of it as paying it forward. You'll feel good, I promise.

Internet is down. :(

My internet at home is down which has put a real hamper on my productivity. Can't post my LOAD pages. Can't finish and post my podcast. Can't check e-mail. Can't read the CSI message board at Ravelry.

So I sneak out to Starbucks every so often to check on my email and check what is going on in the world. If you don't have cable TV (like we don't) and if you don't answer the phone (like I don't) then you are pretty much cut off from the world without your high-speed internet access!

So it's true, the podcast is delayed. In the meantime, though, we're going to play tag. (No, not the tag that I still need to post all the layouts for -- bad Dobbie!) but this tag from Stephanie.

I am at Starbucks.

I am checking e-mail.

I just finished a Kashi GoLean bar (not as good as my ProMax, but it has almost 100 fewer calories so I'm switching it out every now and then to reap the svelte benefits).

Not too exciting. But ah, that is life.
