Christine from Pointy Sticks podcast asked listeners to post on their blogs about why they love socks.
It's kind of funny that a Californian like me (who didn't even OWN a pair of socks when I moved to Syracuse for grad school in the early '90s) would love knitting socks so much. The reasons are simple: they're portable, you can finish one in a limited amount of time (particularly if you're knitting for wee little toes), and sock yarn is a minor indulgence compared to buying yarn for, say, a sweater or something.
All in all, socks rock!
Diddo! Socks are really the first thing I knit instead of scarves and I am totally addicted. I have taught several of my fellow sit and stitchers how to knit socks and even more want to learn.
I recently joined a SAM 3 KAL. They are still accepting participants if you care to join!
