Because I had absolutely nothing else to do today (hahahahah!) I made a complete accounting of my yarn stash. All of the full skeins, at least -- I am not going to even attempt to figure out what all the odds and ends are and how much of them is there in those little balls...
So. I have written it all down. I haven't totalled it yet. That's where you loyal blog readers come in!
Do you sense what I sense coming....
A CONTEST!
Submit your best guess of how many full skeins of yarn I have in my stash, and the one who comes closest will win a goody bag full of random skeins of yarn... yes, there will probably be some eyelash and novelty in there. But there will be some good stuff, too!
Do you have your thinking caps on?
Ready, go! I will make a determination Saturday morning at 9 AM Pacific.
Hints:
-I have been knitting for almost three years.
-I'm not including anything currently on the needles or in my "goodbye" stash.
-My husband thought I had 100 skeins... and I laughed at him.
Let the figuring begin!
I am guessing that you have 142 skeins. (Because I know you have some stuff hidden from your hubby! LOL)

I'm going to go big! My guess is 327 skeins.

305...I started to count mine and then got tired and just estimated. I have been knitting and crocheting for about as long as you.

Okay I'll give it a try but know I am terrible at guessing. 206

Oh BOY!! This is going to be a total stab in the dark ... 249?

A complete accounting of full yarn skeins?? OMG, you can count that high? My guess is 517. I'm guessing that because I GUESS I have about 700ish and I would never count them because, OMG, finding out I have 700 skeins of yarn is sickening, and the fact that you are WILLING to count yours means it has to be less than 700, right? OK, logic might not be my strong point but my love for a good yarn stash - and more importantly - a good friend - is.

Wow! I've been knitting for over 30 years and even I don't have over 100 skeins. My husband still finds lots to complain about though. He has no idea what would happen if I didn't exercise restraint... poor dear. Anyway, my guess is 342. Cheers and happy knitting!

If you are anything like me you have way more than 100! I have only been knitting for two years but crocheting for over 8 and I have too much to count. My husband one day trying to be completly serious asked me if I thought I had about $500 invested in my stash. I laughed at him and do you know what he said? He asked if that was too much. I say, the less he knows the better! I didn't have the heart to tell him that my book collection alone is over 500 dollars. :-)

Oh yes, before I forget, check my blog when you can, I scraplifted one of your layouts for Ali's challenge today :)
Thanks for the inspiration! :)

You are so organized! :) I need to do this!
I will venture a guess of 305.
Have a good weekend!

347? I've only been knitting about a year and a half, and I already need to buy storage again. I already have it in the extra-large Iris carts, two baskets which I use (stacked) as an end table, and in my bedside table/cabinet.

Well, I'm not a knitter, but my mom is... so I guess 230. :)
