"I should like to enjoy this summer flower by flower..." (Andre Gide)
This quote tells me to slow down, to look at things one by one. To take a breath. To take the time to see the results of my actions and words before I move on.
Why is it so hard to slow down? Why is it so hard to let things go (meaning, let them go out of my life)? Why do I want to fill every moment... and when I do have a spare second, I FILL it with... SOMETHING. Shopping. Reading. Cruising online sites. Tortilla chips (haha!).
Why is it hard to just BE?
The seconds are becoming minutes are becoming hours are becoming days are becoming years... what am I becoming?
Take a breath. Take another. Don't move from where you are right now. Listen. Be. Feel. Imagine. Dream.
Hi Lain! Wow , that is so interesting that you used the words "take a breath",huh??? After recent breathing problems! I think we fill each day up so much because we realize that life is so short and fleeting we have to do...do..do. I did so much all day today to catch up it was 9:00pm before I stopped! Now it is after 11 pm! Geeze and here I am ! Pam

I think slowing down is hard for some of us just because it is in our nature to always want to be DOING something! LOL I enjoyed slowing down today, though...since my son is away for a few days and my hubby was at work, it was just me and my girlie, and she wanted to go to the pool. I can't remember the last time I spent the afternoon at a pool! So we went, and oh my goodness...it was heavenly! Hot sun, cool water, good old-fashioned rock & roll blaring through the pool's sound system...LOL...made me feel like a teenager again! :}
