I'm not much for making predictions, but after reading a handful of articles about what's going to happen in 2010, I thought I'd take a stab at it:
1. The Apple Tablet will be the next hot technology gadget. Amazon will be mad.
2. People will realize that it's impossible to build quality relationships in 140 characters or less. Twitter accounts will die quick and painless deaths.
3. Google Wave will cause equal amounts of joy and pain. Thousands of "gurus" will arise, Athena-like, overnight to tell you how to make scads of money/build followers/etc. overnight.

4. eBook sales will rise sharply, largely due to Ella and Apple. :)
5. I will: add too many books to my "to read" pile, take on too many projects, and not get as much done as I had hoped.
I am with you on #5. What do you suppose that says about our personalities?

I have to disagree on #2. I personally think Twitter will grow, as people will realize that the service is a great supplement to a full-size(?) blog.
Also, for me, the verdict is still out on whether or not Google Wave will be useful outside of business-type collaboration. Of course, since Google made it, people will fall all over themselves to adopt it.
Just my two cents. Happy New Year!

Do you have access to Google Wave? If so, I would love an invite!

I would love it if Twitter went away! I hope you're right on that one!
