I hate to say it, but the past few weeks have not seen a lot of scrappin' going on in this house. I have been a wee bit preoccupied, and John certainly isn't going to pop up to the cave, uh, I mean garret, to whip out a few pages. Ain't gonna happen.
So, the stuff was lying fallow. And I have to admit that while I've felt the pull, I've resisted the urge to dive in. First, scrapbooking is an escape for me. And there are times when you cannot escape. Around here, Christmas is one of those times!
Second, I think it can be beneficial to avoid doing something I love, even when I love to do it. After a period away, the ideas come back fresh and I'm rarin' to go! And let's face it -- in my life, I'm scrappin' day in and day out. The ruts can get worn in deep and wide. Taking a break can be just what I need to shake it all up a little bit.
It felt good to sit down at the ole' table again. The ideas were flowing, and so were the projects! Layout-wise, I've done a few fun things as the guest designer for Go. Be Creative this month. My projects should be up over there in the next day or so! I was so honored to be asked. Thank you, Lainey!
Also, I made a TON of thank-you notes. I got a great pack of American Crafts' new Teen line in the mail today (oh, how I LOVE to pull up to the house and see a brown box on my doorstep!). I whipped out these lil' cuties:
I'll give you some close-ups tomorrow (and some peeks at the GBC stuff) but right now I must go walk the dog. Not in the yo-yo sense.

Ooh how pretty is that kit??? (And let me tell you - the word "pretty" is really not a part of my vocabulary). Wild Honeysuckle - nice! Great LOs, too.
I have never heard of this website - you should have said something sooner (like maybe before I signed up with StoryTellers Club??? ;-) in November?) Ah well, I'm happy with them & it looks like I can still purchase your kit without signing up for the KOTM.
I also love the look of the TY cards - boy you weren't kidding, were you? Scrappin you're lil' heart out indeed-what a busy bee you've been.
Me on the other hand, I've been trying to create a database on my computer (I have a Mac, which I lovingly call MacBonkers) so I can inventory all of my scrapbooking supplies, so I can quit purchasing duplicates - one of my so-called new year's resolutions, ha-ha.
I, too, love getting home and seeing a little brown box on my front porch (nothing yet - although the UPS driver gives me some funny looks as he drives by my house now & sees me opening the door with the ever-so-hopeful look on my face).
Next week, I think I'll start 'stalking' (LOL) the FedEx driver and give the UPS driver a break. :-)
Can't wait to see the stuff from GBC.

I think it is the puppy. My scrapping has slid to almost a complete halt since the arrival of Molly at the end of July. She is now almost 9 months and I have barely even scrapped her!!!
Just think, this time last year, we were in the throes of LOAD! Now we are seeing dust on our supplies (or is that just me?)
I is on my to do list to get bck on track.

Hey Lain :) I usually don't do much scrapbooking over the Christmas holiday either - we've always got a ton of company & there just isn't a lot of free time (even though I'm off work - go figure).
But I'm back to my routine & cranking out the pages. I've posted a bunch on my blog. AND I scraplifted the JOY layout you did for the Fiskars site - my scraplift is called Ready. I'm ready for LOAD in February :)

Really cute cards!
I think you are right about taking some time off. It does help get you energized and excited to get back to scrapbooking.
I'm starting to train for a half-marathon, so I'm trying to balancing running and scrapbooking with all the regular duties of a working mom. I might do a few pages for LOAD, but I think that running is going to take top priority. Since I have taken a break from running, it's been exciting (and really hard) to get back to it, especially in the cold Indiana weather.
Can't wait to see your projects for GBC!

Love your little cards---very cute!! Don't talk about UPS to me today. Finally after 3 attempts to deliver a replacement part for our new vanity, they finally showed up at 6:00pm (they were to deliver between 1pm and 5pm!), the replacement part was damaged and we need to contact Costco again!! Oh, and they didn't attempt to deliver my new lens on Friday (it was "stuck" in Seattle due to adverse weather conditions---the road between Everett and Seattle, was not flooded) and now when they deliver that, I probably won't be home to sign for it! Okay I will quit complaining and will join you in your "scrapbooking zone" and try to get some pages out. Instead of the 365--I'm going to do the 12 on the 12th times 12!
