Less than 24 hours before I leave for the Scrap Etc. event, and I have WAY too many things to do! My brain keeps buzzing with ideas, but my hands can't keep up. I'm a little scared about the whole thing -- I can operate one of two ways when I'm in a large group. I can be very quiet and blend in, or I can be one of the "rowdy" ones. I have more fun when I'm rowdy, but when you put your whole personality out there like that, it can be a little anxiety-producing! I want to meet people and have a blast, but at the same time I want to blend in to the woodwork... am I the only person who feels this way in large groups?
I've been busy creating all sorts of little goodies -- embellishing my ArtBin (of course, that was something that HAD to be done), burning a CD to give to my roomie, Jody, and the teachers (CZ, Swapp, Elsie, and Carrie), and cropping photos and getting my supplies ready. I had an idea for t-shirts and had already purchased white ones to embellish, and then I read on the site that the organizers want us to wear pink or black. Ack! I have to confirm my shuttle reservation, finish my newsletter for work, and take a shower! How will I fit it all in??? ;)
A quick quote this week. This one is from Susan Jeffers, author of "Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway:"
"There are no wrong choices. There are only DIFFERENT choices."
How appropriate. :)
Wow....you sound so busy indeed! Have lots of fun at the event and take pictures to share please :)
Can't wait to hear all about it!

I am the EXACT same way in groups. No wonder we're friends!

I hope you have a great time! There's really no way you won't, I'm sure. Take pictures and tell us all about it when you get back! :)

Your description of "group personality" is so dead-on! I'm the same way! Did you move a lot as a kid? I did and quickly developed the ability to do anything in any situation. Then a successful sales career only reinforced it! The anxiety of putting yourself out there is tough - I really relate to that.....so I'm going more for middle ground now. Hard to break all the years of training, especially when it's such an EXCITING event as what you're going to. Those old adrenaline rushes add to the party fer sure! I can't wait to hear all about it. I know everyone LOVED you.....either way you played it!
